Lackawanna College

Coach Speno joined the Lackawanna College softball staff in July 2025, ahead of the 2025-2026 scholastic year.

Speno is a native of Waterloo, NY, and coached ten years previously at the NJCAA level at Finger Lakes CC as head coach and assistant coach at Herkimer CC as its pitching coach during its National Championship season (2013).   He also Coached first base, outfielders, and slappers, and served as bench coach along with scouting and player advancement. 

Coach Speno has coached organized softball since 1989; from developing a youth program to being an assistant at Waterloo High School, to coaching players that have won 10 Section V Class B titles over 15 years. 

Speno has coached ASA softball teams for the past 20 years that have played National Level with the Conklin Raiders - Gold from the Binghamton, NY area. 

Most recently he was a softball coach at Easton Area HS in Pennsylvania, helping the Red Rovers to become 2025 District XI champions in Class 6A. 

He owns Speno Financial Consulting and Training, LLC., and received his bachelor’s degree in finance from RIT in Rochester, NY. 

Speno has three daughters (Alyssa, Jennifer, and Nicole), all of whom played DII & DIII college softball.
