(Wye Mills, MD) – The Lackawanna Lady Falcons defeated #17 Chesapeake College Tuesday afternoon, 72-56. This win is the 7th in a row for the Lady Falcons, their record is 8-3 (6-1).
Lackawanna started their game off by dominating the 1st quarter against a NJCAA nationally ranked opponent. A key to their success was offensive teamwork, which has been vital all season. Ciaira Loyd, Kyla Smith, Jasmine Lewis, Taylor-Rae Styles, Briaunna McCullough, Shaylah Green, and Colleen Cwalina all managed to score early. The Lady Falcons led after the 1st quarter, 32-19. Lackawanna would keep their lead into halftime, 43-33. The second half of the game was guided by Lackawanna's defense and rebounding. They finished the game with 48 total rebounds, and also held Chesapeake College to 12 points in the 3rd quarter and just 10 points in the 4th quarter. The Lady Falcons took the win 72-56.
