(Scranton, PA) – Cheyney University pushed it down to the final seconds against Lackawanna College Tuesday night. Cheyney University came close to sending the game to overtime but a massive steal from Taylor-Rae Styles and buzzer beating layup by Ciaira Loyd elevated the Lady Falcons to a 75-71 win at the Student Union. Lackawanna's record now stands at 5-3.
The Lady Falcons entered the night defending a 3 game win streak. They managed to stay on top of the Wolves with a barrage of three point shots throughout the game by Kyla Smith. Smith went 5-7 from outside the arc, finishing with 20 points.
Lackawanna also enjoyed the return of Ciaira Loyd Tuesday night, she played her first game of the season. Loyd was energetic on the floor as she recorded 15 points and 3 assists. The Lady Wolves were able to take advantage of Lackawanna's free throw shooting to keep things close. Cheyney shot 21-28 from the line, out doing Lackawanna's 7-21. The Lady Falcons won their fourth straight game 75-71.
