Scranton, PA - The Lackawanna College Men's Soccer team welcomed Rowan College of Burlington County to Loyola Field Sunday afternoon. Both teams came into the match with winning records and the Falcons were looking to keep their momentum going from last week's shutout win over Manor College. In the 11th minute of the match, Lackawanna was called for a penalty in the box and the Barons quickly capitalized by converting the penalty kick into the first score of the game. The Barons would add to their lead with a goal at the 28:08 mark, putting the Falcons in an early hole. However, with :56 seconds remaining in the first half, freshman Justin Solano would put one in the back of the net to cut the Barons lead in half, 2-1, going into halftime.
The 2nd half was a defensive battle with sophomore goalkeeper Matthew Tisdel shutting down most of Rowan County's scoring chances. Unfortunately, the Barons would put the game away at the 88:04 mark, with their 3rd goal, stretching their lead to 3-1.
With the loss, the Falcons fall to 4-3 on the year. Lackawanna will look to bounce back Thursday night when they host Montgomery College in a 7:00pm matchup.
