    West Windsor, NJ – With wins over Mercer County Community College and County College of Morris on Friday afternoon, the Lackawanna College Baseball team qualified for the Championship game(s) in the Region XIX Division II Baseball Tournament. In the 10:00 contest, Lackawanna outscored Mercer by a score of 6-3 and then claimed the 2:00 game by a score of 10-4. The Falcons impressed by taking a 6-0 lead in the top of the first inning in the initial game and never trailing the rest of the day.

The Falcons lost 6-2 and were named Region XIX Runners-Up.

    Scranton, PA – Monday afternoon, the Lackawanna College Baseball team ended their Region XIX Division II schedule with a doubleheader sweep of Lehigh Carbon Community College. The Falcons took both games of the twin-bill by scores of 7-3 and 12-3. The sweep was important to Lackawanna since it clinched the third-place seed in the upcoming Region XIX Division II Baseball Tournament and eliminated Lehigh Carbon from qualifying for that tourney. If the Cougars had qualified, Lackawanna would have had to play them in a best of three play in series. As it now stands, Falcons receives a bye into the tournament’s semi-final.
