Lackawanna Sweeps EPAC Tri-Match

Scranton, PA: Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College Volleyball team swept both of its matches in an Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference tri-match played at Lackawanna's Student Center. The Falcons won each of their games against Manor College and Valley Forge Military College by an identical score of 3-0.

In its opening match against Manor, Lackawanna won by set scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-11. Top performers for Lackawanna were Kayla Baney with five kills, five aces and eleven assists; Samantha Snashell with four kills, two aces and two blocks; and, Jordan Skoff with seven kills.

In their match against Valley Forge, the Lady Falcons outscored VFMC by set scores of 25-12, 25-14 and 25-13. The top performences in this second contest were provided by Skoff with fifteen kills and three aces; Snashell with five kills, four aces and a block; and Baney with three kills, twenty-one assists and three aces.

Head Coach, James Hummer said after today's sweep, "We played very well in both matches today. The ladies have been upbeat at practice and it showed today. We seem to have found our rhythm late in the season which puts us in a great position to carry this winning momentum into the playoffs."

Lackawanna plays again on Tuesday when they travel to Schnecksville, Pennsylvania to play Lehigh Carbon Community College. Game time is 6:00 pm.
