Harrisburg, PA: Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College Volleyball team split its Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Tri-Match, losing to Montgomery County Community 3-0, before defeating Harrisburg Area Community by a 3-0 score.
In the first match against Montgomery County Community College, the Lady Falcons lost its three sets by scores of 25-13, 25-19 and 25-21. The Falcons' highlight performances in this match were those of Jordan Skoff, who had 6 kills,7 assists and6 digs; Kayla Baney, who had 4 kills, 5 assists and 5 digs; and, Samantha Snashsell, who had 2 kill, an ace and 4 digs
In talking about the loss, Head Coach James Hummer said "We had a few unforced errors in each of the three sets and that turned out to be the difference."
In the second match against Harrisburg Area, Lackawanna won by set scores of 25-22, 25-19 and 25-22, Again the Lady Falcons top performers were Jordan Skoff with 9 kills, 2 aces, 9 assists and a block; Kayla Baney-with 7 kills, 2 aces and 11 assists; and, Samantha Snashsell-with 6 kills, 5 aces, 14 digs and 2 blocks
In discussing the second loss Coach Hummer remained positive, saying, "Sam had a great game defensively. Both Kayla and Jordan combined for a strong offensive threat. The chemistry of the team is starting to come together and it showed in the second match tonight."
Lackawanna takes the floor again on Saturday when they take floor against Manor College in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. Game time is 7:00 PM.
