Lackawanna loses EPAC Home Opener

Scranton, PA: the Lackawanna College volleyball team lost their Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference home opener to Montgomery County Community College, three sets to nil. In those three sets, the Falcons were outscored 25-8, 25-15 and 25-16.

Despite the loss, the Lackawanna head coach, Jim Hummer, was upbeat saying, "I'm happy with how the team responded after dropping the first set. They were much better team in the second and third sets." He concluded, "We just need to iron out some mistakes as we move forward."

The Lady Falcons top performers were Ciara Candelaria, who had 3 assist, 8 digs, and 7 service points; Nicola McKetty-Ekuban, who had a kill, 3 blocks and a service point; and, Elizabeth Rosencrans, who had 2 kills, and assist, 4 digs, a block and 6 service points.

Lackawanna next plays on Thursday when they open their Region XIX DII play with a home contest versus longtime rival County College of Morris. Thursday's game will be played at the gym at the Lackawanna College Student Union and is scheduled for a 7:00 start.
