Lackawanna suffers Defeat on the Road

The Lackawanna College women's soccer team fell to the Lady Vikings of Mercer County Community College on Saturday afternoon by an 11-0 score. The loss was Lady Falcons fifth of the season without a win.

In discussing the game, Lackawanna Coach Tory Pomeroy said, "Our players hustled the full 90 minutes, never giving up. I am extremely proud of these ladies for their efforts. Our players worked the full 90 minutes, they never gave up."

Goalkeeper Yanesi Martinez had 12 shots on goal over her 73 minutes in goal . Amelia Hossage finished out the game in goal for the final 17 minutes.  Lackawanna forced 8 Mercer offsides, due to a very coordinated defense with outstanding efforts by Mackenzie McAndrew and Hailey DeWitt .

Lackawanna gets the week off before they return to the field next Saturday when the take the field in a road game against Bucks County Community College at their Newtown, PA campus. Game time is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
