Sonday to serve as Interim Head Coach

The Lackawanna College Athletic Department has announced that it has hired James J (JJ) Sonday as an interim Head Coach of its women's bowling team. He will replace Alice Kuhn, who resigned as that program's head coach.

A resident of Exeter, Pennsylvania, Sonday is a member of the Professional Bowling Association, originally joining that organization in in 2003. He bowled in his first professional tournament in 2001 at the age of 16; and was runner-up in the 2010 AMF PBA Parkway Lanes Open. In 2014, the team on which he was a member won two Pennsylvania State Bowling Association titles; the 2014 PSBA Scratch Team Champions and PSBA Handicap Team Champions.

JJ is also a Regional Pro Staff Member of 900 Global; and Pro Staff Member of both Strike It Rich Pro Shop and Turbo.

Sonday has recorded numerous 300 games and 800 series and had his name placed in the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame in East Arlington, Texas for his accomplishments.
