Lady Falcons Upset #8 Union County College 60-50

(Scranton, PA) – Tuesday night was the Lady Falcons 2018 Home Opener at the Student Union. The Lackawanna College Lady Falcons knocked off nationally ranked #8 Union County College 60-50. The Lady Falcons improved their record to 1-1.

The first quarter started off a bit rocky for Lackawanna as Union CC outscored them 16-6. The Lady Falcons managed to regroup in the 2nd quarter. A Union CC foul with a half a second left to go in the first half, allowed Lackawanna to hit a free throw to take a 26-25 lead into the locker room for halftime. The 3rd quarter saw Union CC retake the lead 43-40. Lackawanna built momentum in the 4th quarter to win the game 60-50. Efforts by Kyla Smith, Jasmine Lewis, and Colleen Cwalina scored 31 combined points. The Lady Falcons made the most of Union CC's miscues as well, scoring 28 points off turnovers.
