Lackawanna College is honored to announce that Alex Jackson has signed a Letter of Intent committing her to continue her playing career at NCAA Division II School, West Virginia State University, a member of the Mountain East Athletic Conference.
A two-year starter for the Lady Falcons, Jackson played in 52 games and scored a total of 605 points while registering 235 assists and 137 steals. She grabbed 188 rebounds and was credited with 22 blocks. This season, she scored 392 points in 27 games, an average of 14.5 per game. As a guard, she dished out 118 assists and was credited with 69 steals. Jackson was not afraid to help under the boards, as she also collected 95 rebounds.
This signing concludes a season in which Jackson was named an NJCAA Third Team All-American, Region XIX Division II All Region First Team and selected as Region XIX Division II 'Player of the Year'. Jackson was also named the NJCAA DII women's player for week and the EPAC player of the week earlier in the season.
At the signing, Lady Falcon's head coach Joya Whittington said," this is a huge reason we do what we do here at Lackawanna. We want to see our athletes grow in character, in academics, and in their athletic abilities in order to help them reach the next level of their academic and playing careers.
