Lackawanna Advances to Districts

Randolph NJ: The Lackawanna College women's basketball team used a 23 point performance by Alexandra Jackson and a 19 point contribution by Quieterrium Gross to claim a 67-61 victory over Union County College. With the win, the Lady Falcons advanced into the NJCAA District N-O DII Women's Basketball Tournament. Lackawanna will be the #4 seed in tourney and plays Harcum College the winner of today's Region XIX title game. The District Tournament will be held at Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

In addition to the double digit scoring by Jackson and Gross, rebounding was a key to the Falcons' victory, as they out rebounded the Owls 48-30 and led in second effort points 14-9. Top rebounder for Lackawanna was Tearia Hartley with 11. Lindsey Dippre led the team in assists and steals with 5 and 3 in those statistical categories.

A win in next weekend's game against Harcum will place the Lady Falcons in the NJCAA DII National Women's Basketball Championship in Harrison, Arkansas.
