Wayne, PA- Thursday night, the Lackawanna College women's basketball team used a strong 14 point 13 rebound effort by Paris Thompson and double digit scoring by Ariana Sanders and Lindsey Dippre to claim a victory over Region XIX DII rival, Valley Forge Military College. With the win, the Lady Falcons finished the first half of their conference schedule with a win/loss record of 8-1.
Sanders was Lackawanna's leading scorer with 18 points, while Dippre contributed 10. Thompson's 13 rebounds led the team in that category. Laquana Nagbe also had double figure rebounds with 11. Dippre's 5 assists was the Lady Falcons' high for the evening.
Lackawanna returns to play on Saturday when they travel to Rochester, New York to take on ASA College in the opening round of the Pete Pavia Memorial Scholarship Tournament sponsored by Monroe Community College. Game time for Saturday's contest is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
