Lackawanna Rallies to Beat Bears

Bryn Mawr, PA: Last night's women's basketball contest lived up to its hype, as four Lady Falcons scored in double figures to lead the Lackawanna College to an 80-74 win over longtime rival, Harcum College. Down by 11 at the half, the Falcons outscored Harcum in the second half by a 47-30 margin to claim the victory.

Those having double-digit scoring nights were Kwanza Murray with 18 points; Kayla Henderson with 16; Siamya Mace with 15; and, Darrian Johnson with 14. Both Murray and Henderson combined their point totals with double figure rebounds to give each one of them a double-double performance. Murray had 15 rebounds, while Henderson grabbed 12. Melvene Gainey led the team in assists with 5 and Briana Franklin in steals with 3.

Lackawanna doesn't have much time to celebrate its victory; it hosts Manor College, another rival which historically has given the Lady Falcons stiff competition in Region play. Manor visits the Student Union on Sunday with tipoff scheduled for 1:00 PM.
