(Scranton, PA) – The Lady Falcons played their home-opener against Cayuga Community College on Saturday afternoon. Lackawanna won both games of the double-header, 23-3 and 14-7. Their record now stands at 11-6.
Game 1 started out with Cayuga putting up the first run, but Lackawanna dominated from there. The Lady Falcons dropped 15 runs on their opponents in the bottom of the 1st. Notably, Lexis Chapman hit a 3-run triple, Alexandria Thoman singled for 2 RBI's, and Marlena Pegula hit a single to drive in a run. Later in the game, Hayley Coale hit a 2 run homer to center field. Lady Falcons won 23-3. Amanda Mowry picked up the win after pitching 3 innings and giving up just 2 hits.

Game 2 saw the Lady Falcons have a big 1st inning again. Lackawanna's Gabrielle Vuocolo homered to center field to drive in the team's first run. A few batters later, Jordan Skoff hit a 3-run homer to center. The Lady Falcons found themselves scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd, Lexis Chapman doubled on a line drive to left field bringing home 2 runs. Gabrielle Vuocolo would hit another double a few batters later to drive in 2 more runs. Lackawanna held onto their lead and won 14-7. The winning pitcher was Amaya Townsend, she pitched 3.1 innings and gave up no hits or runs.
