Effects of NEPA Rains lead to postponement of Sunday’s District K Contest

Jessup, PA – Game two of the National Junior College Athletic Association District K best of three series has been rescheduled to 12 PM on Monday, May 8. The game between Lackawanna College and Mercyhurst North East was originally scheduled for 10 AM today but had to be canceled due to unplayable field conditions. Tomorrow's game will be played at the Jessup Youth Sports Association Complex on Moosic Lake Rd. RT.247, in Jessup, Pennsylvania.

The Lady Falcons take an opening game 8-5 victory into this second contest. A win in that game will propel Lackawanna into the NJCAA DII National Softball Championship being played at Traceway Park in Clinton, Mississippi from May 17th through the 20th. A Lackawanna loss will require a winner take all game three to determine the District representative in the national championship. Game three, if needed, will be played on Monday immediately after the conclusion of 12 PM contest.

Presently, the forecast calls for Cloudy and cool temperatures for tomorrow with a 5% chance of showers. So weather should not be a major threat to the conclusion of this series.
