Randolph, NJ - Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College softball team advanced to the Region XIX Division II Championship softball game, as Kacey Orlowski shut out Mercer County Community College in the 2-0 Lackawanna victory. Orlowski gave up only five hits and struck out five in her seven innings of work.
Orlowski, got the only scoring assistance she would need in the first inning, when Laureen Leppo drove in Moriah Lynn with the first run of the game on a RBI single. Orlowski then gave herself a cushion in the top of the sixth on her only hit of the day, a solo home run.
Leppo and Lynn were the only Lady Falcons to have multi-hit games.Both singled twice in three at bats. The Falcons' only other extra base hits were a double by Paige Durkin, and another two bagger by Marina Pegula.
The championship game is scheduled for tomorrow at 1 PM. Lackawanna's opponent will be determined in tomorrow's 11 AM game.
