Verrastro commits to St. Peter’s.

Scranton, Pa. - Lackawanna College is honored to announce that Barbara Verrastro, a member of the Lackawanna softball team, has signed a Letter of Intent to attend St. Peter's University. St. Peter's is a NCAA Division I institution located in Jersey City, New Jersey, and is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

At Lackawanna, Verrastro is starting pitcher and first baseman on the softball team. In her two seasons with the Falcons, she has compiled a 17-10 pitching record, with a 4.10 ERA, and has struck out 162 opponents. At the plate, Verrastro has a .308 batting average, with 11 doubles, a triple and two home runs. She scored 31 runs and drove in 28 more. Her slugging percentage is .438, and she has an on base average of .350.

Verrastro is a graduate of Lakeland High School and presently resides in Scott Township, Pennsylvania. With her commitment to St. Peter's, she will be joining her sister Georgina, a catcher on St. Peter's 2017 softball team.
