Lackawanna Softball splits Tuesday two game set.

Myrtle Beach, SC: The Lackawanna College softball team split a Tuesday afternoon two game set. In the opener, the Falcons lost their first game of the season, losing to USC Salk 11-3, before bouncing back in the second game to beat PSU Fayetteville 9-4.

In the first game, Barbara Verrastro suffered her first loss of the season, giving up ten hits and six earned runs over four innings. She struck out 3. Brenda Reninga was the Falcons most effective hitter with two singles in three at bats.

In game two, Kacey Orlowski was credited with the win, after holding PSU to four unearned runs over seven innings on three hits and two walks. She struck out three. The win was Orlowski's second of the season. Orlowski helped herself with the bat as she doubled, homered and drove in three runs in three plate appearances. Also contributing extra base hits to the Falcons winning effort were Kelly Snyder and Moriah Lynn with a double and Marina Pegula with a home run. In addition to Orlowski, Brenda Reninga and Barbara Verrastro also had multi-hit games; both had two singles in two at bats.

Tomorrow Lackawanna plays Delaware Valley in a doubleheader.
