Lady Falcons fall to Foe and Weather

Wye Mills, MD - The Lackawanna College softball team traveled to Chesapeake Community College on Saturday and suffered a double loss. The first defeat came on the field when they fell to Chesapeake by a 14-9 score. The second loss came to "Mother Nature", as they saw the nightcap of the scheduled twin-bill canceled by inclement weather.

Barb Verrastro suffered the loss in the contest against Chesapeake, her second of the season. Her overall win/loss record is now 2-2.

Emily Duffy and Kara Voyton were the Lady Falcons' top hitters. Duffy was three for three with a double, two runs scored and a run batted in. Voyton was also three for three with a double, a run scored and five RBIs. Also having a multi-hit game was Taylor Tilberry. Tillberry was two for four with a run scored. Both Bethany Mickavicz and Verrastro had an extra base hit, each had a double.
Lackawanna plays next on Thursday when they travel to Newton, New Jersey to take on Sussex County Community College in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
