Myrtle Beach, SC – The Lackawanna College finished their spring trip with a split of their Thursday games. The Falcons fell to Pitt Community College 13-0, before rebounding to beat Henry Ford College 6-2. With the split, Lackawanna ended their spring trip with a 4-4 win/loss record, and an overall record of 6-4.
In game one, Barb Verrastro suffered the loss, her first defeat of the season. She now has a win/loss record of 3-1. The Lackawanna hitters suffered its second five inning hitless game of the trip.
In game two, the Falcons rebounded at the plate with four Lady Falcons recording multi-hit games. Emily Duffy led the foursome with two doubles and a single in four at bats. She was followed by Jessica Bobersky, who singled three times in three plate appearances; and, Mikaela Browdy and Katie Yale, who both singled and doubled in three trips to the plate.
Yale earned the win, pitching a complete seven inning game, giving up two runs on seven hits, only one of the runs was earned. With the win, Yale improved her win/loss record for the season to 3-2.
Lackawanna next plays on Saturday, March 19, when they travel to Wye Mills, Maryland to take on Chesapeake College in a doubleheader. The opener is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
