Georgetown DE: - The Lackawanna College softball team dropped both games of its Region XIX Division II opening doubleheader to Del-Tech Owens, by scores of 3-0 and 10-4. Darrian Johnson, in her first appearance as a Lady Falcon, was the team's top performer with two hits, an RBI and a run scored.
In the opener, Lackawanna received a quality pitching performance but couldn't generate an offense to match. Cynthia Petrucci hurled six innings relinquishing 3 runs on 8 hits while striking out 3. Unfortunately for the Falcons that performance went wasted as Bethany Mickavicz contributed the Falcons' only hit, a single while the Lady Falcons were held scoreless.
In the nightcap, Lackawanna found their bats as they scored 4 runs on 7 hits, regrettably it wasn't enough. Johnson led the hitters with her two singles, while five others also had base hits. Madisen Nichol, Colleen Walsh and Amanda Ogozaly all singled; while Michaela Hedglin and Jessica Bobersky doubled. Hedglin led the fans in RBIs with 2.
