Myrtle Beach, SC. – On Wednesday, the Lackawanna College Softball team lost both of their scheduled contests. In the opener, they fell to Brookdale by a score of 6-3, and in the second game they suffered a 13-1 defeat to Onondaga Community College.
In the opener, the Falcons fell behind by four in the top of the first inning, but scratched back in second on an RBI double by Megan Tweedy and an RBI single by Jessica Bobersky . In the fifth Lackawanna further reduced the deficit to one when Amanda Ogozaly scored on a Brookdale error. That was the closet the Falcons got, as Brookdale scored twice in the sixth and held Lackawanna scoreless in the final two innings.
Top batter for the Lady Falcons was Amanda Bobersky, who had Lackawanna's only multi-hit game with two singles in four at bats along with her run batted in.
Cynthia Petrucci suffered a complete game loss pitching all seven innings giving up six runs on eight hits. She struck out two.
In the second game, Onondaga took advantage of warn out Petrucci, pitching in her sixth game in three days, and scored all their runs in the first four innings to claim the victory. Lackawanna scored their only run in the fourth when Michaela Hedglin scored on a Madisen Nichol single.
Lackawanna's top performer was Bethany Mickavicz , who singled twice in her only two at bats. Ogozaley made her pitching debut, throwing one scoreless inning while giving up two hits.
