Myrtle Beach, SC – The Lackawanna College Lady Falcons Softball team split the first two games of their 2015 campaign with a 9-4 win over Finger Lakes Community College and a 7-4 loss to Prairie State College. Jessica Bobersky was the top performer for the day with three hits in the first game, two of which were doubles. She drove in a run and scored threetimes. She also collected a single in the nightcap.
Bobersky's hitting performance in the opener was equaled by the pitching performance of Cynthia Petrucci. Petrucci earned the win when she pitched a complete game; relinguished four runs, only two of which were earned; gave up eight hits; and struck out eleven.
Also contributing to the win were Amanda Ogozaly with two hits and a run scored; Bethany Michavicz with two hits, two runs scored and an RBI; Michaelo Hedglin with a single, double, run scored and two runs batted in; and Colleen Walsh with a base hit, a two bagger and a run scored and RBI. Megan Tweedy also had a double.
In the second game, the Lady Falcons were held to four hits, one each by Kayla Kelly, Bobersky, Tweedy and Ogozaly.
Petrucci suffered the loss.
