SCRANTON, Pa. -- Lackawanna College Athletic Director, Joya Whittington announced on Friday that British Virgin Islands National Team scout and former professional coach, Rudy Roediger has been named the head men’s and women’s soccer coach of the Falcons soccer programs.
Scranton – Sophomore soccer player Joshua Schliesing recently committed to NCAA Division II Nyack College to continue his academic and athletic career. A resident of Zermatt, Switzerland, Schliesing is a 6’1 athletic midfielder/forward who was a leader on the pitch for the Falcons the last two years. At Nyack, Joshua will be majoring in Business Administration Sports Management.
The Lackawanna College Men’s soccer team recently concluded their 2017 season with three players named to the All Region XIX Division I Men’s SoccerTeam. Edmilson Centeio was named First Team All Region XIX; while Montel James and Bryce Scofield received Second Team honors
Newton, NJ – The Lackawanna College men’s soccer team suffered a 5-1 loss in their end of season match against Sussex County Community College. With the defeat, the Falcons ended their season with a 4-9-1 win/loss/tie record.
Scranton, PA - Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College men’s soccer team lost a Region XIX Division I match to Rowan College at Burlington County by a 10-1 score. The contest was important to both teams in that the winner was guaranteed the fourth-place seed in the Region XIX DI Men’s Soccer Tournament. The loss eliminates the Falcons from participation in that tourney.
Scranton, PA – Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College soccer team fell to the Wolverines of Essex County College by a 6-1 score. With the loss, Lackawanna saw their conference win/loss record fall to 1-3.
Hazleton, PA - Tuesday afternoon, the Lackawanna College Men’s Soccer team beat Penn State Hazleton by a 4-3 score. The Falcons were led by Montrell James, who was credited with two goals and an assist.

Sunday afternoon, the Lackawanna College men’s soccer team claimed their second win of the season with a 6-0 victory over Central Penn College. The Falcons were led by Montrell James, who scored three goals.
Scranton, PA; Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College soccer team fell to Montgomery College of Maryland by a 6-1 score. Joshua Schliesing scored the Falcons only score with a goal at 30:26 in the first half.
Jenkintown, PA: The Lackawanna College men’s soccer team claimed their first victory of the 2017 campaign, beating Manor College 5-1 on the road. Lackawanna spotlight players were Fitz Jolley with 2 goals; Prem Subedi with a goal and 3 assists; and Santosh Subedi with 2 assists.
Scranton, PA: Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College soccer team played Hagerstown to a double overtime 1-1 tie in an inter-regional game played at Scranton Prep’s Loyola Field. The Falcons scored first when freshman Giovanni Vega scored his first collegiate goal of his career, while Hagerstown also scored in the first period on a penalty kick from just outside the goal. That would be all the scoring in the contest as scoring chances eluded Lackawanna throughout the second period and in both overtime periods.
Scranton, PA – Wednesday, The Lackawanna College Soccer team announced their 2017 schedule. The Falcons will open their season on August 26th, with an away game against the Albright College Junior Varsity team. The Falcons home opener will be played on Saturday, September 1st at 1:00 PM, when they host Hagerstown Community College at the Scranton Prep’s Loyola Sports Complex.
