Schuylkill Haven, PA – Thursday afternoon, the Lackawanna College men's soccer team defeated Penn State – Schuylkill by a 8-5 score. The Falcons took the early lead, scoring 2 goals in the first 10 minutes of the match. Lackawanna then saw that lead evaporate in the next 20 minutes as PSU scored twice. With a minute left in the half, the Falcons retook the lead on Jayvon Jones's third goal of the first half.
Lackawanna clinched the game in the second half with 5 more goals which included another score by Jones.
For the day, Jones was credited with 4 goals, a team record, and an assist. Also scoring for the Falcons was Prem Subedi, who had 2 goals and an assist; Edmilson Centeio, with a goal and an assist; and Lamin Barrow, with a goal. Although Daniel Zungia and Jason Stephens did not score, they contributed to the scores with assists, Zungia had 3 assists, while Jason Stephens had 2.
In the nets, Daniel Lamourt, had 6 saves with a PK save. Tyler Millman was also credited with a save in relief of Lamourt.
Lackawanna finishes their regular season Sunday, when they travel to Pemberton, New Jersey, to play Rowan College at Burlington County. Sunday's game is scheduled for a 2:00 PM start.
