Lackawanna College to Add Men’s Soccer in 2016

SCRANTON, Pa. – Lackawanna College will add men's soccer to its roster of successful programs for student athletes beginning in the Fall 2016 semester.

"We feel that the popularity of men's soccer in this area and around the nation has grown tremendously," said Lackawanna College Athletic Director Kim Mecca. "We're excited to provide our students with the opportunity to participate in a sport that's so widely enjoyed and appreciated."

The College currently offers male students the chance to compete in baseball, basketball, football, and golf. Women's soccer has been offered for the past nine years, according to Mecca.

Future Falcons will compete in NJCAA Region XIX Division I play against colleges including Essex County College, Mercer County Community College, Harcum College, Manor College, and Rowan College at Burlington County. Scholarships will be available for men's soccer participants at Lackawanna.
