High Bridge, NJ - On Monday afternoon, the Lackawanna College Golf team reclaimed Pennsylvania – Delaware Cup after shooting a team score of 292 beating the other eleven schools in the field vying for the trophy. The Falcons held the cup for nine consecutive years before losing it to Lehigh Carbon Community College last season.
The cup goes to the NJCAA schools located in Pennsylvania or Delaware who has the lowest team score in the yearly match played in concurrence with the Region XIX Qualifier at the High Bridge Hills Golf Course, High Bridge, New Jersey.
Lackawanna's Joe Hurn was the tourney's medalist with a score of 69. The next low scorer for the Lackawanna golfers was Ryan O'Malley, with a 71. He was followed by Zac Moore who carded a 75 and Tyler Salak, who shot a 77.
The Falcons will take the links again in May when they travel to the Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana, to represent Region XIX in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament. That tourney commences on May 24 and runs through May 27.
