Sitzman joins Lackawanna College Golf Team

Scranton, PA - Lackawanna College is pleased to announce the signing of Athens High School's Zach Sitzman to a National Junior College Letter of Intent committing him to play for the Falcons' 2016 – 2017 golf team.

Zach Sitzman of Athens Area High School is a four-time All-Northern Tier League selection and the 2015-2016 NTL player of the year after winning the District IV Class AA golf championship by one shot. Sitzman also qualified for the District IV playoffs in all four seasons of his high school career.

Athens coach Jeff Novak attended Sitzman's signing and gave his thoughts on his former player. Novak said "It's incredible to see Zach sign on to play golf at the college level," Novak said. "It's also good to see him further his education while he plays golf, I'm very proud of him."

Sitzman is the first player under Novak to sign a letter of intent to play golf on the college level.

Sitzman will join Pocono Mountain's Ryan O'Malley and Forest City's Dylan O'Dell,  as well as some talented international players, in a Lackawanna golf program that has been ranked multiple times in the NJCAA DII National Polls and Bushnell Golf Weeks GCAA Rankings.
