(Scranton, PA) – The Falcons defeated the Cheyney University Wolves Tuesday night 84-71. Lackawanna's record now sits at 6-3.
Longtime Falcon Basketball fans saw a familiar face on Cheyney University's bench Tuesday night. The Wolves Head Coach was former Lackawanna Falcon basketball player, Dawud Morris. Notably, Morris was a part of the last Falcon basketball team to make it to the national tournament during the 2003-04 season. He played for Lackawanna during the 2004-05 season as well.
Lackawanna has spread the ball around in the past few games and Tuesday night was no exception. Talek Williams, Nikhi Barnes, Ricki Lopez-Mercedes, and J'von Winslow all scored double figures. The entire team combined for 22 assists. Lackawanna led into the half 37-33, but the Falcons turned on the heat even more in the second half. They dropped 6 three pointers, and hit 64.5% of their free throws overall. Lackawanna beat a 4 year school in Cheyney University, 84-71.
