Falcons Fly High as they claim Region Victory over Valley Forge

Wayne, PA – With the echoes of the Philadelphia Eagles' fight song, "Fly Eagles Fly", reverberating through the Philadelphia Main Line after Thursday's victory parade, the Lackawanna College Basketball team composed their own version of that iconic song with "Fly Falcons Fly", as they ran off to a 24-5 run at the start of their game against Valley Forge Military College on their way to a 90-49 victory. Sophomore forward, Jonathan Williams, led the Lackawanna efforts with 15 points and 3 blocked shots.

In addition to Williams, three other Falcon teammates contributed double digit scoring performances in the win. Stevan Rodriguez led that group with 14, while Keyon Faulkner-Smith netted 12 and Javontay Pipkin added 10.

The Falcons are presently in First Place in the Region XIX Division II standings, with a 11-1 record and a two-game lead over their next opponent County College of Morris. Lackawanna hosts Morris on Saturday at Lackawanna's Student Union. A Falcon victory will give them no worse than a first-place tie in the Region's final regular season standings.

Game time for Saturday's contest is 3:00 PM.
