Newark, NJ – After a Manor College loss last Saturday and tonight's 99-52 win by the Lackawanna College Men's Basketball team over Essex County College, the Falcons claimed sole possession of first place in the Region XIX standings. The Falcons were led by Alphonso Gee who had a team high 14 points. He also dished off 6 assists to tie him with Javontay Pipkin for a game high in that statistical category.

Also contributing to the win with double figure contests were Stevan Rodriguez with 12 and Jonathan Williams with 11. Rodriguez also led the team in rebounds with 8.

Lackawanna, who is now ranked 12th in the country by the most recently released NJCAA Division II Poll, has improved their conference win/loss record to 10-1 and their overall record to 18-4.

The Falcons take the floor again on Saturday when they play a non-conference game against Division I Harcum College, at Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Saturday's game is scheduled for a 2:00 PM start.
