Lackawanna Men beat Valley Forge

Scranton, PA – Led by a 22 point scoring performance by Gil Benz, the Lackawanna College Men's Basketball team claimed a 81-64 Region XIX Division II win over Valley Forge Military College. The victory improved their conference win/loss record to 6-3 with five conference games remaining. A victory in anyone of those five games guarantees them a .500 Region DII record and a spot in the Region's DII Men's Basketball Tournament; with its seeding depending on its final Region XIX win/loss record.

Besides Benz, three other Falcons scored in double figures. Javontay Pipkin led the trio with of 15 points, while Darryl Carr and Cartier Talford each scored 11. Top rebounder for the Falcons was Talford with 7, Pipkin led in assists with 12, giving him a game double-double in points and assists.

Lackawanna returns to the play on Thursday night when they host Monroe College at the Student Union. Thursday's contest is a non-conference game and is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
