Scranton, PA – The Lackawanna College Athletic Department and its men's basketball program are honored to announce that Mark Perry and Quintin Ward, members of the 2015-2016 squad, have been named to the All-Region XIX Division II Men's Basketball Team. Perry was name to the All-Region 1st team, while Ward received 2nd team honors.
During this past campaign, Perry led the Falcons in scoring with 556 points and in points per game with 18.5. He also grabbed a team best 306 rebounds and recorded 13 double-double games in scoring and rebounds. During this season, Perry was double figures in scoring in 28 of the 30 games he played. In his two year career at Lackawanna, Perry amassed 1003 points and 565 rebounds.
In learning of Perry's selection, Lackawanna head coach, Kevin Clark, said, "The men's basketball program is extremely proud of Mark and his accomplishments throughout his career at Lackawanna. He has been the foundation of our team and is well deserving of this recognition. Mark is going to be incredibly successful at the next level and his hard work and dedication to improving his craft is admirable. We are very happy for him."
Perry is a resident of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Steelton-Highspire High School
Ward is a freshman on this year's team. He gained his recognition by scoring 462 points and recording 203 rebounds. Only Perry had better numbers in those statistical categories.
In hearing that Ward had received 2nd team recognition, Clarke said "Quintin was a pivotal piece for us, both offensively and defensively. He continued to excel on the floor and played at a higher level individually, which helped our team succeed as a whole. There's no doubt he will be one of the premier players in the region next season. We couldn't be happier for his achievement."
Ward is also a resident of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and graduated from Susquehanna Township High School.
