Scranton, PA: After losing a 41-28 half time lead to County College of Morris and allowing the Titans to tie the score at 73 with 3:58 left in the game, the Lackawanna College Men's Basketball Team went on a 15-7 run to clinch its Region XIX home opener with an 88-80 win. The Falcons top performers in the victory were Isiah Frances with 25 points and 9 rebounds; and Travaun Coad with 18 points and 8 rebounds. More importantly, these two combined to score 8 of the Falcon 15 down the stretch points, which proved to be the margin of victory.
Other Falcons who ended the night in double digits were Mark Perry with 12 and Josh Kahindo with 10. Kahindo recorded a double-double as he combined those points with a team high 11 rebounds. D'Armond Player led in assists with 6.
Lackawanna travels to Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania on Thursday to play Harcum College. Since Harcum moved up to NJCAA DI status four years ago this contest is a non-conference contest for the Falcons. Despite that non-conference status, this game is played as it always has been, as a true intrastate rivalry, Thursday's game should be no different. Tipoff for that contest is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
