Former Falcons to Participate in NFL Combine

Scranton, PA – Starting Friday and running through Monday March 5th, the National Football League will conduct its annual NFL combine. It is an invitation only event where players perform physical and mental tests in front of National Football League coaches, general managers, and scouts for the purpose of evaluating those players for the league's annual draft. This year approximately 350 college football players have been invited to this event that is being held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. This year's invites include two former Lackawanna College players, Ka'Raun White and his brother Kyzir White.

Ka'Raun is a 2015 graduate of Lackawanna, who transferred to West Virginia University with three years of eligibility remaining. At Lackawanna, White was a second-team all-conference selection as a redshirt freshman. He had 42 receptions for 522 yards and three TDs. At West Virginia, Ka'Raun was an honorable mention All-Big 12 pick as a senior, making 61 receptions for 1,004 yards and 12 touchdowns. In his junior year, he started in 11 games recorded 48 receptions for 583 yards and caught five touchdown passes; and then missed the end of the year with a leg injury. As a sophomore, White played in nine games, starting two, caught 15 passes for 275 yards.

Kyzir graduated from Lackawanna in the spring of 2016 before transferring to West Virginia University. At Lackawanna, he was an excellent defender, earning third-team all-conference honors as a freshman. In his sophomore year, White was an NJCAA All-American after recording 37 tackles, 3 interceptions and 4 pass break-ups in the 10 games he played for the Falcons. For the Mountaineers, he played the Spur hybrid safety/linebacker spot during the 2016 season. At that position, he compiled 58 tackle that included 7 for losses, 3 sacks, 5 pass break-ups, and 2 forced fumbles. In his senior year, Kyzir earned a second-team All-Big 12 notice by league coaches after he recorded 94 tackles, 7.5 that went for loss, 3 interceptions, 4 pass break-ups and 2 forced fumbles.

The combine will be broadcast on the NFL network with the positional breakdown for combine workouts scheduled as follows:
