Lackawanna falls to ASA

Uniondale, NY: Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College football team lost their first game of the of the 2017 season, losing to ASA College 21-14.

The contest is the type you would expect when ASA and Lackawanna meet.

After a scoreless first period, ASA scored the first touchdown of the day when they scored on a 15 yard pass with 6:59 left in the second period.
The Falcons rebounded, when they completed a 80 yard drive in a minute and fifteen seconds, with a 14 yard scoring pass from Carlton Aiken to Juwan Green with 2:15 left on the clock.

After each score, the extra point was good, leaving these rivals tied at halftime, 7 - 7.

ASA started the third period with a 75 yard two minute twenty-two second drive, scoring on a one yard run at 12:38 in the quarter. The extra point was missed to put the score at 13-7.

Lackawanna came back again when they took the lead after Michael Dare finished a 68 yard drive with a 12 yard TD run with 2:38 left in the period. The drive took the Falcons a minute and fifty-four seconds and a gave Lackawanna its only lead of the game (14-13) when Isaiah Howard kicked his second PAT of the game.

ASA completed the scoring for the day, when on the ensuing drive, they ended a 70 yard drive with a one yard touchdown run. The score cme on the last play of period after a two minute forty-eight second drive.

Neither team scored in the fourth quarter, thus resulting in an ASA win.

Lackawanna's next game is Saturday when they travel to New Rochelle, New York, to play Monroe College. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
