Scranton, PA – Lackawanna College quarterback, David Pindell has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association Offensive Football Player of the Week for games played during Week 12 of the season (Nov. 7-13). Pindell was presented with this honor for his five-touchdown performance in a 47-28 win over No. 10 Georgia Military College.
In that contest, Pindell completed 20 passes in 34 attempts for 327 yards and 4 aerial TDs, and contributed a 5th score on a 5 yard rushing play.
In addition to Pindell's four (4) passing touchdowns against GMC, he also had two other games where he threw for four (4) passing TD's (Hocking and Valley Forge Military). The only two games that he failed to throw multiple scoring passes were against Nassau Community College and Monroe College. In each of those contests he threw one TD pass and rushed for another.
For the season, he completed 133 passes in 207 attempts for 2145 yards and 27 touchdowns. He only threw 6 interceptions. Using the NCAA formula for passing efficiency, Pindell grades out to a highly respectable 188.54. Running the ball, he had 80 rushing attempts and gained 414 net yards, for a 5.2 yards per carry average. He rushed for 7 TDs.
Pindell will finish his college career at Lackawanna on December 3rd, when he leads the Falcons offense in the Valley of the Sun Bowl being played this year at Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona.
