Lackawanna beats Hocking for Eighth consecutive Win

Athens OH – Three minutes and forty-six seconds into Saturday's game against Hocking College, David Pindell hit Juwan Green on an 11 yard touchdown pass to give Lackawanna College a 7-0 lead on their way to a 55-12 victory; their eighth consecutive win this season. The scoring pass was one of four that Pindell threw on the day.

Hocking did come back after that first touchdown, as they scored on a pass with 6:29 left in the first quarter to cut Lackawanna's lead to 7-6. However that would be their last score until 6:58 in the game when they scored a second time on a 12 yard pass. Between those two scores, the Falcons scored six unanswered touchdowns.

To end the first quarter, Zahneer Shuler scored on a 2 yard run with 3:13 left in the period. In the second quarter Lackawanna scored on Pindell's 13 yard pass to Umar Muhammad-Wyatt, four seconds into the period; and again, on a 30 yard Pindell pass to Jerrod Diggs with 12:35 left. Kani Kane ended the scoring in the first half with a 6 yard TD run with 3:04 on the clock.

On the opening drive of the second half Jo-El Shaw rushed for a score from the 11 yard line with 13:08 in the third quarter, to start the sec ond half scoring. On Lackawanna's second possession of the half, Pindell hit Diggs once more with a 12 yard scoring strike with 9:44 in the period. After Hocking's second touchdown, Shaw finished Lackawanna's scoring for the game on a 2 yard run with 4:20 left in the third period; as neither team scored in the fourth quarter.

Kane was Lackawanna's leading rusher netting 122 yards on 18 carries; Pindell the leading passer with 135 yards on 9 completions in 135 attempts; and, Diggs the leading receiver with 3 receptions for 46 yards.

Mustafa Mitchell and Shane Schuback led the defense, as Mitchell recorded 7 solo tackles and 2 assisted tackles, while Schuback was credited with 6 solo tackles.

Lackawanna returns to play next Saturday, as the host College of DuPage at Valor Field at Scranton Memorial Stadium. Game time for Saturday's contest is 12:00 PM.
