Pindell leads Lackawanna to 48-6 Victory

Garden City, NY – Saturday afternoon, David Pindell led the Lackawanna College football team to a 48-6 victory over the Lions of Nassau Community College. Pindell started the scoring with a 27 yard rushing touchdown with 11:38 left in the first quarter; and, then followed that initial score with a 21 yard scoring run with 13:51 in the second period.  Pindell ended the day with 79 rushing yards in 6 carries; while passing for 126 yards on 13 completions in 16 attempts, which included a 25 yard score.

The only dent in the early 14 -0 lead was Nassau's only score of the game, a 45 yard run by Naim Jones with 10:47 left in the second period. The remaining 34 game points were all scored by the Falcons.

Offensively, the Falcons' top passer was Pindell, while its top rusher was Marcellias Sutton. Sutton ran for 114 yards on 17 carries. Lackawanna's top receiver was Jerrod Diggs, who had 4 receptions for 21 yards.

Defensively, its top defensive player was Mustafa Mitchell who had 5 tackles and 2 sacks for losses of 16 yards.  Also contributing to the Falcons' defensive efforts were Daymon Anderson and Joram Smith, both of whom were credited with an interception; and Jave Brown and Shane Schuback both of whom returned fumbles for TDs.

Lackawanna is on the road for their next game when they travel to Orchard Park, New York, to play Erie Community College. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
