Scranton, PA - Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College football team finished its 2015 campaign with a 26-6 win over Dean College; and, in the process claimed the Northeast Football Conference title with an undefeated 4-0 record. The victory was the setup with running game that accumulated 354 net yards with Terry Norris contributing 242 yards and Marclias Sutton netting 103.
Despite the dominance of its running attack, Lackawanna scored all its points through the air and off the foot of Pat Frio. Frio kicked field goals of 42 and 33 yards; while Andrew Ford threw for scores on three of his ten completions. Ford hit John Williams with a 14 yard scoring pass in the first quarter and TD passes of 20 and 75 yards to DJ Myers in the second.
Norris was the team leader in rushes with his 242 yards in 20 carries, a 12.1 per carry average. His long for the day was 59 yards. Ford led in passing with 10 completions in 20 attempts for 159 yards and his 3 scores. Leading receiver was Myers who recorded 5 receptions for 114 yards and his 2 scores. For this contest, he averaged 22.8 yards per reception.
Defensively, Kapri Doucet led the team in tackles with 5 solo and 2 assisted tackles. Four of his tackles were for losses totaling 16 yards. He also recorded a sack and assisted in another. Other notable defensive efforts were Dajon Emory's 4 TFLs for losses of 26 yards; and, Kyzir White's 3 solo tackles, an assisted tackle and an interception.
The last time the Falcons' claimed the Northeast Conference Title was in 2006.
