Newark, NJ: - Saturday night, the Lackawanna College football team suffered their first loss of the 2015 campaign, falling to Globe Institute of Technology by a 48-41 score. Despite the loss, the Falcons exhibited a tenacious never die attitude as they rallied from a 14-0 deficit with 1:10 left in the first half to tie the score at 41 -41 with 5:48 left in the game; only to see Globe retake the lead with 5:07 left in the game to claim the win.
The Falcons used all facets of their offense in scoring their 41 points. Andrew Ford threw two touchdown passes, a 13 yard strike to DJ Myers in the 2nd quarter and a 61 yard bomb to Raekwon Purdy in the 3rd. Terry Norris scored twice in the 4th quarter on runs of 22 and 20 yards. The special teams also made their contribution as Marclias Sutton opened the second half with an 82 yard touchdown return and kicker, Pat Frio, hit on 2nd half field goals of 24 and 30 yards.
Top individual performances included Andrew Ford's passing totals of 13 completions in 28 attempts for 217 yards and 2 touchdowns and Terry Norris's rushing totals of 13 carries for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Leading team receiver was DJ Myers with 6 receptions for 96 yards and a TD. Best defender was Kapri Doucet with 10 tackles, 2 sacks and 4 tackles for loss.
The Falcons remain on the road next weekend when they travel to Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York. Game time for that contest is scheduled for 2:00 PM and will be played at Hudson Valley Football Stadium which is located on their main campus.
