Lackawanna Falcons to open Football Season in New Venue

SCRANTON, Pa. – On Saturday, Aug. 29, the Lackawanna College football team will kick off its 2015 campaign at Valor Credit Union Field at Scranton Memorial Stadium, which is located on the campus of Scranton High School, 63 Munchak Way, Scranton. . Lackawanna's opponent in this year's opener is the Naval Academy Preparatory School with the kick-off scheduled for 12:00 PM.

It is the first time that the Falcons will be playing its home games at that site since 2003 when they ended their season with a contest versus Nassau Community College.

The opener will mark head coach Mark Duda's 21st year at the helm of the Falcon's football program. During that tenure he has compiled an impressive 141-73 record while elevating the program to a position of national prominence.

Duda has guided Lackawanna to three undefeated seasons, and appeared in nine bowl games, winning two of them. The Falcons defeated Glendale Community College in the Valley of the Sun Bowl in 2006, and also claimed a 20-point victory in the Graphic Edge Bowl in 2010 over the Ellsworth Community College Panthers. Coach Duda has also led Lackawanna to four Northeast Football Conference championships.
