Lackawanna College to Host the Lynett Memorial Basketball Tournament and Lackawanna Winter Esports Open on Dec. 27th & 29th

(Scranton, PA) – The 68th Annual Lynett Memorial Basketball Tournament is being held on December 27th and 29th at Lackawanna College's Student Union. The Lynett Tournament is a Scranton tradition that dates back sixty-eight years, and showcases the best in local high school basketball. This year, Lackawanna College will be enhancing the fans experience at the tournament by hosting The Lackawanna Winter Esports Open at the conclusion of the 2:30pm games on each day. Esports is the newest sports program in the market and Lackawanna College is extending an open invitation to play in our new state of the art Esports facility.

The Esports coaching staff and team members will be on hand during all games to answer questions about the program. Our Esports team will lead fans from the Student Union to the Esports facility located in Angeli Hall on both days. Day one will consist of a facility tour and exhibition matches in various games. Day two will test gamers by offering prizes for completing achievements in Rocket League and Fortnite. For example, being the first to score three goals in Rocket League could earn fans a gift card.

Lackawanna will also be bringing a little more entertainment inside the Student Union as well. The Falcons will be holding halftime games during both boy's and girl's championship games. Participants will compete on the brand new Lackawanna College basketball court, with the chance to win a prize.

Lackawanna College is excited to host and wishes the best of luck to Holy Cross, Dunmore, Scranton, and Scranton Prep High Schools as they compete in this premier holiday tournament. Lackawanna College's Student Union is located 500 Jefferson Avenue in Scranton, PA.
