(Scranton, PA) – Lackawanna Baseball played a double-header against Monroe College on Tuesday afternoon. The Falcons lost game one 18-9 and the second game was suspended due to lack of daylight. The Falcons record now stands at 15-13 (3-3).
The Falcons began their scoring in the bottom of the 1st as Ryan Cole hit a 2-run homer to center-field. Lackawanna held their 2-0 lead until the top of the 3rd as Monroe College blasted a 2-run homer of their own and drove in 2 extra runs. Monroe led 4-2. The Mustangs pounced on the Falcons' pitching in the top of the 4th, they recorded 6 more runs to make the game 10-2. The Falcons tacked on 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th. Notably, Colin Weinert smoked a solo homerun to deep center and the Falcons brought the game back to 10-5. Monroe College continued to score, adding 8 runs over the final 3 innings. The Falcons best comeback came in the bottom of the 6th as Zac Granger and Ryan Cole batted home an RBI apiece. Monroe defeated Lackawanna 18-9. The losing pitcher was Jacob Rajsigl. He pitched 3.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 8 earned runs.

The second game was played until the beginning of the 5th inning but was called off due to lack of daylight. The game is considered suspended but will not count unless the game is finished. Lackawanna has already traveled to Monroe College this season.
