Falcons Baseball Wins 4th Game in a Row

(Scranton, PA) – The Lackawanna Falcons defeated Sullivan County CC 13-2 in 7 innings on Tuesday afternoon. This win boosted the Falcons record to 14-11. This win also marked Lackawanna's 4th win in a row.

The first runs of the game came early for the Falcons. DJ Barry-Staszak started things out with a double which was followed by a Ryan Cole single. With runners on the corners, Zac Granger hit a double into the left-center gap to drive in both runners. Two batters later John Crane hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Granger. Falcons lead 3-0 after the 1st inning. The 2nd inning saw Zac Granger knock in another run on an RBI single up the middle.

Sullivan would add 1 run in the top of the 3rd but Lackawanna answered back with 5 of their own. Notably, DJ Barry-Staszak hit a 2 RBI triple to center, Ryan Cole hit an RBI single, and Owen Kiess drew a walk with the bases loaded. Falcons lead 9-1. Anthony Socci and Owen Kiess added a run apiece in the 4th inning. Lackawanna's pitching held Sullivan to 2 runs and 4 hits. The game was stopped in the 7th inning due to the 10-run mercy rule. Lackawanna won 13-2. The winning pitcher was Matt Clarke. He pitched 2 innings, gave up 1 hit and no earned runs.
