(Fairview, NY) – The Lackawanna Falcons baseball team took on Dutchess Community College on Friday afternoon. The Falcons won by a score of 8-3; the game was rained out in 7 innings. Lackawanna is only 1 game away from reaching .500 on the season, their record is 6-7.
The Falcons dove into the 2nd inning with a double to left-center field by Marlon Lindsey. Three batters later, Matt Clarke would single to center bringing Lindsey home and giving the Falcons an early 1-0 lead. Lackawanna would score 2 runs in the top of the 4th inning curtesy of Matt Clarke and Owen Kiess. The scoring would continue into the top of the 5th as Marco Morales hit a 3-RBI double to right field with the bases loaded. The very next batter, Jerry Reinhart, hit a homerun to left-center field scoring 2 runs. The rain took over the game in the 7th inning. Falcons won 8-3. The winning pitcher was Dominic Verrastro (2 IP, 0 ER, 3 Strikeouts).
