Moosic, PA – Sunday afternoon, the Lackawanna College Baseball team dropped both games of its non-conference doubleheader to Harford Community College. The Falcons were shutout in game one by a 15-0 score before being outscored 9-3 in the nightcap.
In the opening game of the twin-bill, Harford took a lead in the first inning that the Falcons never threatened, as the Owls went on to a 15-0 win.
Steve Boscia was the losing pitcher of record.
In game two the Lackawanna hitters were held to two hits, both singles. Nevertheless, they scraped together three runs to lead by a 3-0 score after five complete innings. During those five innings, Falcon pitcher, Barry Sanders held HCC both scoreless and hitless. However, in the sixth Sanders tired and gave up three runs and the bullpen faltered giving up six more, allowing Harford to take a 9-3 lead which they protected through the remainder of the game.
Relief Pitcher, Christian Jorgenson suffered the loss.
Lackawanna will not play again until Thursday, when they host ASA College at their Jadwin Street ballpark. Thursday's game will start at 3:30 PM.
