Scranton, PA - Today's basesball doubleheader between Lackawanna College and Lehigh Carbon Community College has been cancelled. This twin bill will not be rescheduled.

Lackawanna's regular season has now come to an end, as a result of the cancelation of today's doubleheader. The Falcons finished the 2017 campaign with an overall win/loss record of 33-15 and a Region XIX DII record of 9-5. The Region record makes Lackawanna the third place seed in next weekend's Region XIX Division II Baseball Tournament.

Lackawanna is scheduled to play Mercer County Community College in the opening round of the Region's tournament. That contest is scheduled for Friday, May 11th at 10 PM. The winner of the morning game will play the winner of the County College of Morris versus Rowan College at Burlington County that afternoon in a winner's bracket game, while the losers will also play in an afternoon contest in an elimination game. The Championship round will be played the following day, with a Sunday game, if needed. The Region XIX Tournament is hosted by Delaware Technical Community College and will be played at Georgetown, Delaware.

The winner of the Region Tourney will advance to the NJCAA Northeast District best of three series between the champions of Region XIX and Region XX. The winner pf that series will represent the District in the NJCAA DII World Series played in Enid, Oklahoma. The District series is scheduled to be played at the home field of the District XX champion on May 19th and 20th. The World Series is scheduled for May 27th through June 3rd.
